Why Do Males Have To Be Circumcised In Islam?

Aladino, The web site www.gurnicpath.com is anti Muslim.
A good name has been given to the web site to deceive Muslims.
It is one of the many ways the enemies of Islam are trying to tarnish the image of Islam.

Allah's creation was perfect.
For the haneefs (pure monotheists, i.e., Muslims), circumcision has the same status as baptism does for the worshippers of the cross (i.e., Christians). They purify their children ? as they say ? when they baptize them in the baptismal water, and they say, now he has become a Christian. Allaah has prescribed for the haneefs their own rite, the symbol of which is circumcision. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

?[Our Sibghah (religion) is] the Sibghah (religion) of Allaah (Islam) and which Sibghah (religion) can be better than Allaah?s? And we are His worshippers? [al-Baqarah 2:138]

So Allaah has made circumcision a symbol of those who belong to Him and to His religion, and who attribute themselves to Him as being utterly enslaved to Him alone.

The point here is that the religion of Allaah is haneefiyyah (pure monotheism) which fills the heart with knowledge and love of Him and sincerity towards Him, and worship of Him alone with no partner or associate, and which marks the body with the characteristics of the fitrah, namely circumcision, removal of the pubic hair, trimming the moustache, cutting the nails, plucking the hair from the armpits, rinsing the mouth, rinsing the nose, using the siwaak (toothbrush made from twigs from a certain tree) and cleaning oneself after elimination of urine or faeces.

Circumcision of newborn boys (i.e., within the first month of life) brings numerous health benefits, including:

1 ? Protection against local infection in the penis, which may result from the presence of the foreskin, causing tightening of the foreskin, which may lead to retention of urine or infections of the glans (tip) of the penis ? which require circumcision in order to treat these problems. In chronic cases, the child may be exposed to numerous diseases in the future, the most serious of which is cancer of the penis.

2 ? Infections of the urethra. Many studies have proven that uncircumcised boys are more exposed to infection of the urethra. In some studies the rate was 39 times more among uncircumcised boys. In other studies the rate was ten times more. Other studies showed that 95% of children who suffered from infections of the urethra were uncircumcised, whereas the rate among circumcised children did not exceed 5%.

In children, infection of the urethra is serious in some cases. In the study by Wisewell on 88 children who suffered infections of the urethra, in 36 % of them, the same bacteria was found in the blood also. Three of them contracted meningitis, and two suffered renal failure. Two others died as a result of the spread of the micro-organisms throughout the body.

3 ? Protection against cancer of the penis: the studies agree that cancer of the penis is almost non-existent among circumcised men, whereas the rate among uncircumcised men is not insignificant. In the US the rate of penile cancer among circumcised men is zero, whilst among uncircumcised men it is 2.2 in every 100,000 of the uncircumcised population. As most of the inhabitants of the US are circumcised, the cases of this cancer there are between 750 and 1000 per year. If the population were not circumcised, the number of cases would reach 3000. In countries where boys are not circumcised, such as China, Uganda and Puerto Rico, penile cancer represents between 12-22 % of all cancers found in men; this is a very high percentage.

4 ? Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
Researchers found that the STDs which are transmitted via sexual contact (usually because of fornication/adultery and homosexuality) spread more among those who are not circumcised, especially herpes, soft chancres, syphilis, candida, gonorrhea and genital warts.

Why Do Males Have To Be Circumcised In Islam?

This is how things generally work: Allah ?????? ? ?????? creates, and then He tells us what to do. So regardless of how He created us, when He commands male circumcision... "we hear and we obey." It is when you start making up your own assumptions that you start confusing and misguiding yourself. Muslims do not have a say when a matter is already decreed.

That website you linked to is not credible and is spreading lies. It rejects hadiths, which is why it has that view. Read their countless other links. Their views are not correct and have nothing to do with Islam.

female genital mutilation, female circumcision

It is unfortunate that the term circumcision is applied to both the removal of the foreskin of the male and the removal of the clitoris of the

woman. There is no comparison.

[Bukhari 7,72,,779] Mohammed said, ?Five practices are

characteristics of the ancient prophets: circumcision, shaving the

pubic hair, cutting the moustaches short, clipping the nails, and

depilating the hair of the armpits.?

This hadith refers to the circumcision of female genitalia. It assumes

that both the man and the woman are circumcised.

[Muslim 003,0684] [...] Abu Musa then said, ?When is a bath

obligatory?? Aisha responded, ?You have asked the right person.

Mohammed has said that a bath is obligatory when a man is encompassed by a woman and their circumcised genitalia touch.

There is probably a "religious" or, Quran based, reason but circumcision has a number of health based reasons for it too.
Most religions provide a "life code" or a code by which followers are to live their lives.
Followers often concentrate on the moral, ethical, and belief codes.
Most religions also form a fabric that enables people to get along with each other, or a social structure, too.
More religions than not include proscriptions and prescriptions that keep followers physically healthy as well as emotionally, morally, ethically, and spiritually healthy.

Because Mohammad, who was born a bani al Quraish Jew was circumcised.

There is no other reason why Muslims circumcise except for their sunnah, which is that Mohammad was circumcised, therefore, the Muslims must circumcise.

using fact the previous testomony says that God needed all Jews and Hewbrews to circumcise themselves to instruct the covenent between them and God. and needless to say because Muslims have faith contained in the previous Testiment rules they persist with that rule. I trust you, God could have created us how he needed us. -Connor

Jews circumcised their penises to symbolize their covenant with God (Allah). Since Christianity and Islam both stem from Judaism they both took up the practices as well

Muslims circumcise because of the Covenant of Abraham.
Maybe his grandson Judah was a Jew, but Abraham was no Jew, actually Habiru (Hebrew) because he came from across the Eber river which is in present day Iraq. So he is more Arab than Askenazi.

Neither was Mohammed's (pbuh) mother a Jew, they were Hanifs (monotheists) . They circumcised because they were descendants of Ismail the firstborn son of Abraham who was circumcised at age 12 or 13.
