Weightloss Struggle, Help Me?

Postby Emmet » Thu Sep 07, 2017 7:01 pm

I just can't seem to find the strength and control in me to lose weight anymore.

Especially with the eating, I always give into foods which I would rather not eat. Not that I eat junk food, or anything like that. But I give into cereals (bran), oats, bread (except I usually never have more than two toasts a day if I give into the temptation, I'm trying not to have any at all) dry crackers eg. Cruskits.

And I'm just really un happy with myself.

I feel so disapointed, fat and ugly.

It's almost at the point where I don't know what to do anymore, I feel like giving up.

I also don't think it helps that my best friend is naturally very skinny (we're 14 years old and she weighs 43 kilos and is 168cm tall) she can eat whatever and doesn't gain anything.

I've found it really difficult to recover from my eating disorder because of her, and I'm sick of feeling down all the time.

How can I keep to losing weight?

I try to exercise but I never find the motivation after I stuff up with my eating.

I hate myself.

I would suggest finding a personal fitness trainer. They usually have them at every gym, and they are usually glad to help you reach your goals. I would also suggest a personal physical goal such as running a 10k or a short triathlon or something of that nature. It will give you something to strive for. It takes your mind off of the weight and puts it into reaching your goal. A trainer should be able to help you with a proper diet that you can realistically keep up. Your friend that can eat anything may be able to do that for now, but it may soon catch up to her later in life when her metabolism drops. I hope this helps.

How to motivate yourself to lose weight.

1.
Announce it to a bunch of people. Tell your family and friends

that you are going to lose N pounds a month. It helps, because,

others will expect you to change and will ask you about your

progress.

2. Make a bet. Either with another friend, who is trying to

lose weight, or with someone who does not.
You will feel like

winning, and winning that (maybe not that large) sum of money.

3. Buy a cute outfit, the size you want to become, and try it

on every evening.

4.
You will need to exercise to lose weight, so find an

activity that you really enjoy.

5.
Combine your goals. Say, you joined a gym, or started using a

swimming pool, or joined a badminton

club - use the occasion to meet people of opposite gender and

socialize. This way, exercise will be more enjoyable.

6.
Keep a track of your progress. Photograph yourself once a week,

weight yourself, put the data down and make it your weekly ritual.

Seeing progress really helps.

7.
Put photos of athletic looking men or women on your fridge. Every

time you open the door, you will look at them, and want to be like

them, that will help with binging.

8.
Find same-minded people. Join a club, or find a group of people

who are trying to lose weight, to mutually support each other.

It will boost your social life, too.

9.
Often, people eat because they are bored. Evaluate your life and

try to find ways to make it more interesting (evening classes, going

outs, volunteering, a new hobby). This will keep you busy and keep

your mind off eating.

10. Spend more time with your dog or get one from a shelter. You will

do a good deed, plus will keep active and occupied, walking it out.

Meet other dog lovers in your area, to make it more sociable.
