Cats: Is Draconia Or Mosquito Plant Toxic To Cats?

Yes. Dracena (Dracaena) induces vomiting, and causes weight loss, increased salivation, and depression. In cats, ingesting the plant parts can cause eyes to dilate. Mosquito or Citronella (Pelargonium graveolens Citrosaplant) is a scented geranium. Pelargonium cultivars are toxic to dogs and cats, causing vomiting, anorexia, depression, dermatitis. You'll want to keep these out of reach.

The ASPCA has a list of plants that are toxic to cats. If your pet ingested a toxic plant, contact your local veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at 888-426-4435 (the ASPCA site notes that a consultation fee may apply).

There are so many plants and flowers toxic to cats that I avoid them all. Keep kitty away from the garden. Get her some catnip.
