Any Tips On Losing Weight?

It's summer and I want to lose a lot of weight. I did last summer but stupid me, I ate junk food and gain it all back and more. I'm using the myfitnesspal app and it says i should eat 1700 calories a day. Is that too much because last summer i ate 800 calories a day but I heard that's too little. Here's some info



296 lbs (disgustingly high. I hate it)

16 years old

Not active but has a treadmill

Has depression (i say this because i heard it causes you to gain weight?)

This will all change hopefully :D if you have any tips when you went exercising and dieting please tell me! Especially when you have food that calls your name. I always give in to it.

-You need to at least drink 4 bottles of water EVERY DAY

- stay away from soda and other sugar drinks

- instead of snacks like cookies and crackers, try fruit or low fat yogurt

- STAY AWAY from whites ( rice, bread and pasta) switch to whole wheat or grain because its better for you and gives you all the nutrients you need

- exercise for at least 1 hour a day, and if you want 2 hours

- when you exercise, don't make your self feel like you HAVE to do it, do it because you WANT to. Try doing sports with friends or fun DVD exercises, like Zumba
